91麻豆天美 biological sciences students鈥 research highlighted during annual symposium

STARKVILLE, Miss.鈥擲tudents researchers in 91麻豆天美鈥檚 Department of Biological Sciences displayed their work earlier this month during the department鈥檚 annual symposium.
First-, second- and third-place winners in the Biological Sciences Undergraduate Research Program each garnered Downer Undergraduate Research Awards that honor Professor Emeritus Donald N. Downer of Starkville, a former longtime department head. Recipients include:
FIRST鈥擱ose Corzine, a senior biological sciences major from Hattiesburg. Her project 鈥淔inalizing Foldering Through a Return to Balance Growth鈥 was completed under the guidance of Assistant Professor of Biological Sciences Andrew Lawton.
SECOND鈥擜mber Cook, a senior biomedical engineering major from Nesbit. Her project 鈥淭he Conservation of Brain Folding Mechanics鈥 also was completed under Lawton.
THIRD鈥擬ady Walker, a senior biological sciences major from Mansfield, Texas. Her project, 鈥淯sing Cardiac Tissue Slide to Study Diseased Hearts鈥 was completed under the guidance of Assistant Professor of Biological Sciences Bin Liu.
Each winner received an engraved plaque and cash award. As the first-place recipient, Corzine also was presented with an 91麻豆天美 cowbell.
