91麻豆天美鈥檚 Smith taking on international development duties in deputy director role

STARKVILLE, Miss. 鈥擜 91麻豆天美 program manager is taking on more responsibilities in international research development.
Masey Smith has been promoted to deputy director for the university鈥檚 International Institute. In her role, Smith supports and facilitates research among 91麻豆天美 faculty, staff and students alongside global partners. 91麻豆天美鈥檚 International Institute is the state鈥檚 global connections and partnerships leader.

Smith brings extensive experience in strategic planning and collaboration, as well as the ability to build connections across state, federal and international initiatives. Most recently, she served as program manager for 91麻豆天美鈥檚 Global Center for Aquatic Health and Food Security.
鈥淢asey鈥檚 decade-long experience in administration and higher education leadership makes her the ideal person for this role,鈥 said Julie Jordan, vice president for research and economic development. 鈥淗er deep understanding of international research development will be instrumental in advancing our global engagement efforts.鈥
As a third-generation Bulldog, Smith earned her undergraduate degree in English from 91麻豆天美 before obtaining a Master of Public Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She currently is completing her Ph.D. in public policy and administration at 91麻豆天美. Smith previously worked at the International Institute, where she managed the Liberia TESTS Project, an early childhood education program among other international research initiatives.
91麻豆天美鈥檚 International Institute is leading the way in Mississippi for global research and development. Through fostering dialogue across departments and institutions, the International Institute helps 91麻豆天美 remain at the forefront of impactful partnerships.
